If you've clicked on the link to our new online forum/message
board, you might have thought 'so what?' Simply, it is
another means of opening up the communications channels between
residents/owners and also between them and the Board of Directors. Many
folks don't come to Board meetings and/or don't like to speak
in public. This is another way to make your views known
on a topic without having to wait for the Telegraph which is
only published bi-monthly.
If you are not sure of how to use it, a few pointers:
- To view the current topic, click on the link in the first
column. The window will expand to show you the text.
- If you want to add a comment,
click on 'reply' which you'll find at the top of the screen under
the header 'TL Online Forum'. A message
form will appear. The first time you do this you will
need to click on the link Not a member? under 'Username'. A
pop up profile form will appear. All you have
to enter on this form is your user name (please
use your first and last name, no caps or spaces e.g. johnsmith) your password
(whatever you want
but write it down) and your e-mail address (e.g. johnsmith@att.net). That is all that is
required. Go to the bottom, click
submit, and you will be returned to the forum, ready to write. Write your comment(s),
click "post message" at the bottom
of the screen and it will appear as part of the discussion.
- You can also start a new subject
for discussion. On the screen which shows only the subject
names click on "new
topic" at the top under TL Online Forum. Create
a new topic in the pop-up
window just as you did a message, click "post message",
go back to the message board and
you will see your topic for others to comment upon. However,
please don't add a new topic unless
you feel that it is important.
At this point there are minimal controls applied. However, although the general user can not see your
email address, the webmaster can and will check every new user not
recognized by sending them a message asking for their full name
and address which can be checked at the front desk or with CitiScape just to be sure that only the TL crowd is involved.
Lastly, if the above is not clear, send a message to tlonlinesf@gmail.com
and the webmaster will respond by mail or telephone. Remember,
anything is hard if you don't know how to do it!
