The House of Prime Rib
1906 Van Ness Avenue
(415) 885-4605
Type: Prime Rib
If you want prime rib, you have to visit The House of Prime Rib. They do only one thing and they do it extremely well, prime rib! This restaurant has been in San Francisco since 1949. Be sure to make a reservation or you will end up waiting a long time for a table no matter what day of the week. If you know people who have a hard time making up their mind as to what they want at a restaurant, this is the place to take them! The only decisions you have to make are what size cut of beef you would like and whether you prefer a baked potato or mashed potatoes. The rest comes with the meal. They serve hot sourdough bread, house salad, creamed spinach and yorkshire pudding with each meal. They roll the prime rib cart to your table and carve the beef right in front of you. The dining room is reminiscent of an old supper club with comfy banquets throughout the restaurant. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
