TL's on site Assistant Property Manager has a list of flooring contractors who have installed hardwood floors at TL.  I got a list from her when I was planning to replace our carpet.  She is very helpful.

Thanks to Joanna Kurn, Diane and I found great flooring, underlayment and installer.  The flooring we am using is Mirage engineered flooring.  It is a bit more expensive than laminate, but has a real-wood top layer and is beautiful.  The underlayment we are using is called Silencer SR, which exceeds the TL requirements for sound insulation by 25%.  The installer is Artur Kaminski -- superb work!

I just want to add a word of caution when contemplating installing wood flooring. It is important everyone follow the rules and be aware of how loud improperly installed flooring is to the person below you. It is horrible after investing the amount of money one has to in order to buy a condo here and things begin changing because people don't follow the rules. I am telling you from experience that one can hear the smallest sound from some of this wood flooring. One can hear the scraping of chairs being pushed back from the dining room table to the dropping of whatever on the floor right above my bed and it being such a startling noise that it even causes my cat to look up at the ceiling. Just please be aware of this potential and the effect on one's neighbor.
